भारतीय मौसम विज्ञान विभाग ने बंगाल की खाड़ियों से उठे तूफान फनी को लेकर चेतावनी जारी करते हुए कहा कि अगले 12 घंटो में ये भयानक रूप ले सकता है।

28 April (Day 1): ♦ Gale wind, speed reaching 80-90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph and very high sea conditions very likely over Southeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood. Strong wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph very likely to prevail along & off Tamilnadu & Puducherry coast, Comorin area, Gulf of Mannar and over Kerala. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with squall (wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph) and lightning at isolated places very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and lightning (wind speed 30-40 kmph) at isolated places very likely over Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, Odisha, south Konkan & Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada; (wind speed 40-50 kmph) at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka and north Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
♦ Heat Wave Conditions very likely in many parts with Severe Heat Wave Conditions in isolated pockets over Vidarbha ; in some parts with Severe Heat Wave Conditions in isolated pockets over Gujarat state; in isolated pockets over East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, north Madhya Maharshtra, Marathwada, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh; Warm Night Conditions very likely in some parts of north Madhya Maharashtra.
♦ Heavy rain very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya.

29 April (Day 2): ♦ Gale wind, speed reaching 90-100 kmph gusting to 115 kmph and very high sea conditions very likely over Southeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood and rough to very rough sea conditions very likely along & off Tamilnadu & Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts. Squally wind, speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely to prevail along & off Tamilnadu & Puducherry coast, Comorin area, Gulf of Mannar and over Kerala. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.

April (Day 3): Gale wind speed reaching 120-130 kmph gusting to 145 kmph and very high to phenomenal Seas very likely over SW Bay of Bengal (BOB) nbd and phenomenal sea conditions over SW Bay & adjoining westcentral BOB and along & off north Tamilnadu Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts. Rough to very rough Seas very likely along &off Tamilnadu & Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts. Squally wind, speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph very likely to prevail along & off north Tamilnadu & Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts and 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely to prevail along & off Kerala coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
♦ Thunderstorm & lightning accompanied with hail, gusty wind ( 40-50 kmph) at isolated places very likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand; with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim; ( 40-50kmph) at isolated places over Tamilnadu, South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and south Chhattisgarh.Duststorm/Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning & gusty wind ( 30-40 kmph) at isolated places very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan.

Phenomenal sea conditions likely over westcentral Bay off Andhra Pradesh coast. Rough to very rough sea conditions very likely along & off north Tamilnadu & Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh coasts. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
♦ Thunderstorm accompanied with hail, lightning & gusty wind (wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) at isolated places likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand; Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and lightning (wind speed 30-40 kmph) at isolated places likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim; (wind speed 40-50kmph) at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir and south Chhattisgarh.
